According to the ministry’s statement, Turkey’s natural gas production soared to 234.4 million cubic meters (mcm) in the month of October, while domestic crude oil production reached an unprecedented monthly high of 3.36 million barrels. On a daily basis, the average production of natural gas and oil in October stood at 7.56 million cubic meters and 108,443 barrels, respectively. The largest oil production for the day occurred on October 29, with a total of 111,280 barrels, while natural gas production reached its peak on October 23 at 7.9 mcm.

Notable production milestones were achieved in both fields, with natural gas production in the Sakarya Gas Field reaching 6.66 mcm on October 23 and oil production in Gabar peaking at 52,573 barrels on October 29.
Energy and Natural Resources Minister Alparslan Bayraktar expressed his satisfaction with the recent data, emphasizing Turkey’s commitment to the development of its oil and gas resources. Minister Bayraktar outlined the government’s strategic goals for energy production, stating, “We will increase our production in both oil and natural gas with new fields, new explorations, and new drilling efforts to meet the growing demands of our nation.” He also highlighted Turkey’s efforts to secure new reserves and make new discoveries, citing the example of the Oruç Reis seismic vessel that recently began operations in Somalia.
The Oruç Reis research ship, dispatched to Somalia for seismic investigations related to natural gas and oil, is expected to complete its mission over a period of approximately seven months. Minister Bayraktar announced the signing of a new agreement for onshore hydrocarbon exploration between the Somali Petroleum Authority and the Turkish Petroleum Corporation (TPAO) during a welcoming ceremony at the Port of Mogadishu. This collaboration highlights Turkey’s commitment to expanding its energy exploration activities both domestically and internationally.
